OPERATIONS SUPPORT ENGINEER
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Plan, document, and direct the application, modification, and testing of equipment, machines, and processes to meet Frank’s or client specified requirements.
2. Analyze special applications of existing equipment and processes to determine performance requirements and specifications for modification and/or development of new equipment required.
3. Provide technical support to the Sales and Operations departments.
4. Provide feedback and guidance for equipment used in the field.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Essential:
1. BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Good Communication Skills in the English language using both the written and spoken word.
3. Problem Solving Skills.
4. Ability to work on projects individually and as a part of a team.
5. Availability, via pager or telephone, to respond to after-hours and weekend inquiries and emergencies from the field or other Frank’s facilities worldwide.
6. Autodesk products – Inventor and AutoCAD familiarity. (Similar 3-D modeling packages acceptable (ie. Solid Works, etc.)
7. Competence in:
•Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry
•Use of personal computers
•Basic Drafting
•Dimensioning and Tolerancing of parts and assemblies
•Basic Measurement and Data Analysis
•Classical methods of Static Analysis of Mechanical Elements and Systems
•Basic knowledge of Machining Processes
•Basic knowledge of the Heat Treatment of Steel Alloys
Marginal:
1. B.S. Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
2. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana
3. Pursuit of Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
4. Registration as an Engineer In Training (EIT) or equivalent
5. Familiarity with API Specifications and Recommended Practices
6. Competence in:
•Calculus and Differential Equations.
•Programming Skills in languages such as FORTRAN, BASIC, PASCAL, or C.
•MathCAD.
•The computer operating system, drafting application software, and one or more word processing applications currently in use by Frank’s Engineering Department.
•Finite Element Analysis methods.
•Basic knowledge of Welding Procedure Development and Qualification for Structural Steel Weldments.
•Basic Hydraulic System Design and/or Troubleshooting.
•Programming of CNC machinery.
7. Supervisory Skills
8. Fluency in languages other than English
9. Valid Driver's License
10. Current U.S. Passport
