FRANK’S EVOLUTION TONG Ensuring a Safe and Efficient Work Environment In keeping with its mission to provide dependable, technically superior products and services, Frank’s has designed and produced the Evolution 2000 internal grip tong. The Evolution 2000 connects to and is powered by the top drive, eliminating the need for the traditional tong on the rig floor. The Evolution 2000 is compact in size and has the ability to double as a fill-up tool when used in conjunction with Frank’s patented Mud Saver valve. Since the Evolution is capable of making-up a variety of casing sizes, separate Evolution models have been designed. The Evolution 24-20 is currently available to make-up 20”-24” casing, while the Evolution 36-26 is presently being developed to accommodate 26"-36" casing. Features and Advantages: Use of the Evolution improves rig floor safety and efficiency by eliminating the need for a power tong and hydraulic power unit. When combined with Frank’s unique Horseshoe Elevators and Rotary Spiders, the Evolution can run large O.D. casing strings with a minimal amount of rig floor personnel. Fast, safe and easy rig-up and removal. Capable of handling torques up to 100,000 ft-lbf. (May be limited by the Top Drive rating) Fill-up provisions are integral to the tool. Circulation module is currently being developed.
