Backpacker
|
The Backpacker is a single joint pick-up cylinder designed to aid in the running and pulling of premium threaded tubulars. Throughout the make-up or back-out procedures, the Backpacker holds a predetermined weight on the connection. This allows connection to be made-up or backed-out without the galling of threads which are normally caused by excessive weight of the joint (on the connection). After lifting the first joint, the Backpacker memorizes the weight of the joint and uses this weight as a benchmark for compensation of each of the following joints, recalibrating with each joint thereafter. Other features include: Stainless Steel Remote Control Cabinet with Air\Hydraulic Control System controlled from rig floor Lift Cylinder working stroke at 2.3 inches per minute Works during make-up or back-out Connecting Hose Bundle
