250 Ton Spider

The Split Bushing Rotary Spider features a 250 Ton safe working load. (The spider was tested in accordance with API 7K criteria.)

 

The quick and convenient removal and installation of the carriers, inserts and guides make the spider more efficient when dressing the tools for various pipe sizes.

 

The tool is equipped with Frank’s patented Spider/Elevator Interlock System that prevents the elevator or spider from opening unless the opposite tool is correctly set to grip the pipe.

 

The spider fits in 27 1/2” and larger rotaries.

 

Its top cover sits 11 3/4” above the rig floor and is optional. When using the spider without the top cover, it sits 1” below the rig floor.

 

The unique design allows for both halves to be easily rigged up and down from the rig floor together making it more efficient than spiders that have to be inserted and removed from the rig floor separately.

 

The spider is air operated.
